No. AxleDrive is a state-of-the art GPS tracking device. The instrument’s installation into the vehicle will not affect the onboard electrical systems.
AxleDrive relies on an in-built battery to function. However, to prevent the battery from draining, the GPS does draw power from the vehicle’s battery. Once fully charged, an automatic cut-off is initiated to prevent the GPS from drawing more power.
The installation location depends on the vehicle type/model selected. Only the vehicle/fleet owner knows exactly where to install the device without affecting the vehicle’s security.
