PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Energy Consumption Prediction addresses fleet operators who are introducing battery-electric trucks into their fleet and therefore need a reliable prediction of the driving range. The service is easy to integrate in existing transport management systems. Based on various parameters and different consumption models, our service helps to plan more tours, thus increasing the trucks' operation time. Additionally, the charging time prediction reveals when the trucks are ready for the next tour.

The energy consumption prediction cloud service supports fleet operators to operate battery electric vehicles without having to worry about range problems and charging. The support begins right from when the dispatcher uses the transport management system (TMS) to plan the routes. The energy consumption prediction cloud service can be conveniently integrated in the TMS. The planned route with all loading and unloading information, service and charging times, trailer changes etc. is seamlessly transferred from the TMS to the cloud service.

Energy consumption prediction evaluates the route and predicts whether the vehicle can reach all destinations with or without needing to be recharged on route. If the vehicle does need to be recharged, an additional stop must be considered in the route planning, and the TMS can easily reorganize the routes.

All the driver needs to know is where to load and unload the transport goods, when and where to stop for charging, and how long the charging process is expected to take. This ensures the driver has the best chance of delivering all goods just in time – without any unpleasant surprises. And the fleet manager can turn their attention to other tasks with peace of mind.

Our strengths and your benefits:

  • Model-based: Range prediction models based on extensive Bosch powertrain expertise
  • Reliable: Transparent energy consumption prediction per route and per leg for each tour planning
  • Accurate: Consideration of multiple effects that influence energy consumption to achieve maximum accuracy
  • Independent: Prediction models for various vehicle types, independent of their manufacturers.

PRODUCT FEATURES

Energy consumption prediction for a seamless transport planning experience

Route from A to B
Routes and distances

Witness best-in-class results based on models which consider multiple parameters for an optimal prediction.
You can send these parameters seamlessly from your transport management system to our service via API.

Truck and trailer
Truck and trailer

Additional to the truck's weight, the weight of the transport goods as well as the trailer used will have a big impact on the results.
Our prediction supports detailed trip planning where a trailer can be potentially changed at each stop.

Charging station for eTrucks
Battery capacity and charging

Our prediction models are trained for multiple vehicle types with various battery capacities.
Changing stops can be predicted based on the state of charge before the trip starts, and planned along the route.

Weather icon with sun, cloud, rain, snow
Temperature

The expected ambient temperature can be send with the route information.
Alternatively, it can be retrieved for the weather service which is already integrated with our service.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

We are always here to answer them. Some frequent ones being...

The Energy Consumption Prediction was built to easy integrate with your transport management system. The REST API documentation will be available online for all customers. Contact us for details.

For trying it out you can use pre-defined routes. However, best results can only be delivered if your TMS integrates with the service.

Please note that the module is available at a level Proof of Concept (PoC). We will update the service description as soon as the service changes its maturity level.
