Bridgestone’s fleet management solution, Webfleet, is connecting hundreds of thousands of vehicles across the world. Over 60,000 businesses use Webfleet to improve fleet efficiency, support drivers, boost safety, stay compliant, and work more sustainably. For more than 25 years it has been empowering fleet managers and drivers with data-driven insights that help them optimize their operations.
In order to provide their users with additional value-added services without the need to run integration projects on the customer side, Webfleet is collaborating with Bosch L.OS – Logistics Operating System to leverage the smart integration of digital services into existing systems. The L.OS platform, which is operated on Amazon Web Services (AWS), provides logistics and forwarding companies around the world with quick and easy access to digital services and smart service integrations.
With a close connection to the market, Webfleet sees fleet decarbonization and safety as top priorities in the mobility & logistics domain. Both topics have a strong link to compliance as businesses will be obliged to meet e.g. tachograph compliance and the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). In order to achieve stricter sustainability targets, the shift to electrification and alternative fuels is a big aspect of it. Last but not least, driver wellbeing – in light of the driver shortage – is another major topic.
New technology can help with all these challenges. Smart integrated digital services add value to fleets and help them tackle these challenges while maintaining a profitable and reliable business.
As a first use case, Webfleet and Bosch teams are working together to seamlessly integrate Bosch Secure Truck Parking, the leading European booking platform for secure truck parking, into the Webfleet fleet management solution via Bosch L.OS. This integration will allow Webfleet customers to easily find and book truck parking spaces for their fleets without the need to leave the application and help businesses to:
Increase security for drivers, vehicles, and goods.
Avoid exceeding driving times thanks to pre-booked parking slots.
Reduce fuel costs and CO2 emissions by minimizing time searching for parking.
Better plan ETAs.
Data-driven optimization of business operations
Intelligently connecting different services and systems into a uniform solution empowers users to run their businesses more efficiently based on real-time data. The ambition with this first use case described above, is for dispatchers to get recommendations for available parking spaces based on remaining driving time and order schedule, to prevent drivers from exceeding legal driving times and improve planning. Moreover, ETAs will be calculated and communicated even more precisely depending on the current traffic situation. All secure parking booking details can be automatically shared with drivers via Webfleet’s dedicated driver app and terminals.
We are excited to partner with Bosch and join the L.OS platform to bring innovative and value-added services to our fleet customers. The Secure Truck Parking solution is just the beginning of our collaboration; we are committed to providing more and more impactful features and innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Listening to users and gathering feedback
Webfleet and Bosch L.OS plan to evaluate the integrated Secure Truck Parking offering with a select group of customers starting in Spring 2024. This initial phase will allow product experts from both partners to gather feedback and explore other potential value-added features, before a broader rollout.
